Actor Robert Culp dead at 79

robert culp death - LOS ANGELES, March 24 (UPI) - Actor Robert Culp died Wednesday after falling outside his home in Los Angeles and hitting his head, authorities said. He was 79.

The Los Angeles Times said the "I Spy" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" star had been for a walk when he fell and hit his head. It was discovered shortly after passing through a corridor, he called 911.

Culp Paramedics transported to Queen of Angels hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the death appears accidental Times Culp said there are no signs of violence.

Culp - who co-starred with Dyan Cannon, Elliott Gould and Natalie Wood in the movie "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice" - was nominated for four Emmy Awards for "I Spy", three for acting and one for writing.

She also appeared opposite Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington in The Pelican Brief "and appeared on television programs" The Man From UNCLE, "" Columbo "and" The Greatest American Hero ".

Born August 16, 1930, in Oakland, California, Culp broke into Hollywood in 1957 as the star of the TV Wester "Trackdown", in which he played Texas Ranger Hoby Gilman.

In "I Spy", he and Bill Cosby co-starred as a U.S. team spies who traveled the world undercover, posing as a tennis instructor and his manager.
